Carpe Noctem – a black metal band from Iceland – has signed a multi album contract with Aural Music imprint Code666.
Carpe Noctem’s debut album titled “In Terra Profugus”, due for release in late summer 2013, is a concept album about an ethereal journey within and without the self, exploring concepts of life, death and the nature of evil. It is about overcoming and reaching understanding through strife and hardship, about self-flagellation of the soul. The album title calls upon Cain’s journey into the wasteland of Nod, the self-made exile from God’s creation. Imagery from nature and light references to Nordic myth permeate the text, which is both vivid and esoteric in description. Mixed and Mastered by Paso (The Secret, Ephel Duath) at Studio73, Italy.

The order of the songs count down at first, and then upwards, signifying the initial descent into the earth, into the dream or afterlife, and the subsequent transformation and resurrection.

Carpe Noctem was formed in November 2005 but it’s current formation came to be in 2009. By this time, it had earned a reputation of intense performances on stage, while rising as one of Iceland’s leading acts in black metal. The music shows various influences and expresses extreme opposites. It forms a raw, chaotic and apocalyptic soundscape combined with Icelandic lyrics; Often referencing scripture, Nordic mythology, occult writings, apocalyptic prophecies and Icelandic black magic rituals. Carpe Noctem has self-released a demo (Myrkraverk, 2008) and an EP (Carpe Noctem, 2009).

SAILLE launch new Video

“Blood Libel”, the new video from Belgian melodic black metallers SAILLE, can be seen HERE. The clip was directed by Nicolas Daenens, who previously worked with the band on the “Plaigh Allais” video two years ago. The “Blood Libel” video was shot in the region known as “Meetjesland” in Belgium, both in the woods and in an abandoned church.

A synopsis of “Blood Libel” by SAILLE frontman Dennie Grondelaers: “The video of ‘Blood Libel’ is a somewhat liberal interpretation of the track on our latest album. It tells the story of William of Norwich, a young kid from the 12th century (°1132 – †1144) that was found murdered in cold blood. A murder for which the Jews were falsely accused.”

“Blood Libel” is the opening track of SAILLE’s second album, “Ritu”, which was released on January 18 via Code666 Records. The follow-up to 2011’s “Irreversible Decay” was produced and mixed by Reinier Schenk (GORATH, FLESHMOULD) and mastered by Tom Kvålsvoll (1349, DIMMU BORGIR, KEEP OF KALESSIN). Cover art comes courtesy of Polish digital landscape artist Michal Karcz.

HERRSCHAFT re-sign with code666

The French Electro-Metal band HERRSCHAFT is signing a new record deal with Code666 for their upcoming second full album.
Five years after the release of ‘Tesla’ the band finally breaks the silence and is ready to shake dancefloors as much as houndpits with their unique melting of extreme Metal and Electro/Indus genres. This new project, called “Les 12 Vertiges” is to be released in October 2013, and is about to dig once more into human’s mind, now in a more introspective, raw and perverse manner, driving two worlds altogether to their darkest sides.
Born in 2004, HERRSCHAFT has released two albums with Code666 (EP “Architects of the Humanicide” in 2006 and full album “Tesla” in 2008). During last years band members have focused on various musical experiences, studio, remix or live – Zoé now being part of french band The CNK – before setting back the focus to their core project with a new album and a fresh live line-up.”

ECNEPHIAS sign with code666

Code666 has announced the signing of Italian Occult Metal band ECNEPHIAS.

The band just completed the recording of the follow-up to the acclaimed “inferno” album.

Formed in 1996, ECNEPHIAS (Mancan, guitar and vocals; Sicarius, keyboards and piano; Demil, drums; Nikko, guitars; Miguel, bass) have built a reputation for their Mix of Occult Metal, Mediterranean Influences and extreme metal.

The group commented on the signing: “It’s great to be back with code666, whose roster of incredible talent is one we’ve long followed. We’re so excited to announce that our new album titled “Necrogod” is ready and will be released worldwide in June 2013!”

ECNEPHIAS will hit the road for a string of shows starting September, and is now working on a Video for the track: “Kukulkan”.

Carrier Flux – an avant garde black metal project fronted by Jeff Phillips of Minneapolis

- has signed a 3-album contract with Aural Music imprint Code666. Carrier Flux’s

experimental approach to black metal is a welcome addition to the Code666 family of artists.

Carrier Flux’s third album titled “Objection”, due for release in June 2013, is an

exploratory work that frays the edges of the genre. Fans of dark, atmospheric metal will

appreciate the intricate song structures & evocative qualities. the Visionary Artwork has

been created by the very talented artist Costin Chioreanu.

Carrier Flux was born in 1999 and released two albums so far: the dark & experimental

Introspective Nightmare (2000, Self-released) and the brooding & philosophical In Waste

(2002, Black Lotus Records). A multi-instrumentalist, Jeff Phillips plays guitar, bass,

keyboards, vocals and programs drums for Carrier Flux, mixing & mastering the audio

in his Minneapolis-based sound studio. Phillips has also been involved with a number

of metal & dark ambient projects, including Cold Colours, Blood of the Earth and Vedisni.

He is inspired by bold, complex & atmospheric metal, citing Abigor, Alghazanth, Arcturus,

Nazxul and Ved Buens Ende as his primary influencers.

Greek Avantgarde Black Metallers Aenaon signed a new record deal with code666.

They are now working on the follow-up of the acclaimed “Cendres et Sang”.

DETAILS AND ARTWORK FOR UPCOMING FEN ALBUM REVEALED

Details of the third full-length album from UK Progressive Black Metallers FEN have been announced today. The seven-track album “Dustwalker” is set for release on the 21st of January on Code666 Records, and will be appear in both CD format and as a limited edition Clambox which will feature a bonus track and include a pendant with the band’s distinctive logo. Artwork for the album is by the FEN’s bass player Grungyn.

Like the region after which the band is named, FEN’s music has an almost other worldly aura that speaks of loss and unrequited yearning.“Dustwalker” will be FEN’s third album on Code666, who previously released the band’s debut full-length “The Malediction Fields” in 2009 and “Epoch” in 2011. FEN recently announced that they had re-signed with the Code666, a sub label of Aural Music, for a further three albums after “Dustwalker”. Commenting on “Dustwalker “, frontman The Watcher had this to say: “If “Epoch” embodies a lonely walk into the deepening twilight of the fens in Autumn, then “Dustwalker” represents the cold, sharp greys of a bleak winter’s dawn. SAILLE Confirmed for Eindhoven Metal Meeting (E.M.M.)
Saille has been confirmed for one of the greatest indoor (black)metalfests of the region : Eindhoven Metal Meeting. Joining bands as Satyricon, Obituary, Taake, Dark Tranquility and many others, Saille will crush the Jägerstage of the Effenaar (Eindhoven) on Friday December 14th 2012.

With the drums being recorded a while ago, we’ve all got a ‘recording state of mind’ and have a feeling we’re creating more than just songs. We’re looking forward to unleashing our creations on the audience, both on CD and live!”

THE PROPHECY unveil cover artwork and details about upcoming album

UK Doomsters The Prophecy have revealed the cover art and track listing for their new album,

entitled “Salvation”, due on January 21 via Code666 records.

The follow-up to 2009′s “Into the Light” was produced and mixed by Greg Chandler (Esoteric)

at Priory Studio and mastered by James Plotkin (Sunn O))), ISIS and Pelican).
